İstanbul’un seslerini, genç ve yaşlı kadınların içlerinden geçirdiklerini, oradan oraya savrulan gençlerin kırgın ve öfkeli hallerini sahneye taşıyan Murat Mahmutyazıcıoğlu, bu kez bir “apartman hikayesi” anlatıyor.
Kendi halinde, “huzurlu” bir aile apartmanından, başka deyişle “memleket insanları”ndan gelen sesler duyacağız bu kez. Topluluğun önceki yapımlarından aşina olduğumuz “bam” sesleri bir apartmanın katlarına yayılarak çalınacak kulağımıza. Dikkatli izleyicilerden kaçmayacak detaylarıyla, iki kişilik ancak çok sesli bir oyun Istırap Korosu. Dip dibe evlerinde, birbirlerine fersah fersah uzak yaşamlar süren komşuların içlerinden geçen ve dışlarına taşan bağırışlar; çarpan kapılar, titreyen pencereler, parçalanan kalpler, tepinen çocuklar…
Kadın, erkek, genç, yaşlı, evli, bekar, çocuk ve köpek, kısaca bütün karakterleri sırtlanan oyuncular, oyuna yayılan tüm ses ve efektleri üstleniyor. Karakterlerin kah kimselere sezdirmeden çektikleri, kah yeri göğü inleterek ilan ettikleri “ızdırapları”, oyunu açılıştan finale hareketli kılan ritmik bir akışın içine yerleşiyor.
BAMİstanbul, gücünü bir kez daha metinden ve oyuncuların performansından alarak, şehrin bir köşesine odaklanıp, çaktırmadan kocaman bir memleket hikayesi anlatıyor.
BAM ISTANBUL HAKKINDA
Bam, 2016 yılında kurulmuştur. 11 Kasım 2016’da Kadıköy Theatron Sahnesi’nde prömiyeri yapılan ilk oyunu “Sen İstanbul’dan Daha Güzelsin” başta İstanbul olmak üzere birçok şehirde seyirciyle buluşmuş ve 130 gösterimin ardından sona ermiştir.
2016/2017 sezonunda Afife ve TEB tiyatro ödüllerinde yılın oyun metni seçilmiş, Sadri Alışık tiyatro ödüllerinde, Başak Kıvılcım Ertanoğlu yılın en başarılı kadın oyuncusu ödülünü almıştır.

Murat mahmutyazicıoğlu, known for bringing the voices of İstanbul to the stage; what women, young and old, think about; the hurt and angry states of young People drifting from here to there, this time tells an ‘apartment story.’
This time, Web Will hear voices from a ‘peaceful’ family apartment, in other words, the sound of “ordinary folk”. The “bam” sounds we are familyasından with from previous productions of the company, reach our ears, resounding throughout the floors of the apartment. With details that won’t escape the attentive audience, Chorus of Agony is a two-actor yet polyphonic play. The silent thoughts and uncontainable yells of neighbors leading immensely distant lives in homes extremely close together; doors slamming, windows shaking, hearts breaking, children stomping and running around…
The actors, who shoulder the performances of women, men, young, old, married, single, child and dos, in brief, all the characters, manage all the sounds and effects that radiate throughout the play, as well. The ‘anguish’ the characters suffer, sometimes secretly and at other times by deafening shouts, settles into a rhythmic flow that makes the play lively from the opening to the finale. Once again BAMİstanbul draws its power from the script and the performances of the actors, and while focusing on one corner of the city it tells the story of the entire homeland.
About Bam Istanbul
Bam İstanbul was founded in 2016. Its very first play ‘You Are More Beautiful Than İstanbul’, which made its premier on 11 November 2016 in Kadıköy Theatron Theatre, had met the audience in various cities and said its goodbye after its 130th staging.
In 2016/2017 Afife and TEB Theatre Awards, ‘You Are More Beautiful Than İstanbul’ has been awarded the best play of the year, and Başak Kıvılcım Ertanoğlu was awarded best actress of the year.
Bam İstanbul İstanbul’s second production ‘Kader Can’ had met with audience in 2018, and Deniz Karaoğlu was awarded the best actor of the year in both Sadri Alışık and TEB Theatre Awards.
During the pandemic, BAM İstanbul continued its creation process with short play readings called ‘AT Home’ on its Instagram and Youtube accounts. The company was awarded İKSV Gülriz Sururi-Engin Cezzar Theatre Encouragement Award in 2019 and returned to the stage with its 3rd and new play ‘Chorus of Agony’ as part of the 25th Istanbul Theatre Festival.
Murat Mahmutyazıcıoğlu is both the writer and the director of You Are More Beautiful Than Istanbul, Kader Can, and Chorus of Agony.
