Derya TÜRKAN İstanbul’dan Mektup projesinde Sokratis Sinopoulos ile birlikte, aynı enstrümanı çalan iki arkadaş olarak, İstanbul’da yüzyıllardır yaşayan engin kültür hazinesinden yararlanarak bu toprakların müziğini ortaya çıkarmayı amaçlıyorlar.

Bu engin müzik hazinesini keşfetmelerinin en önemli nedeni ise İstanbul kemençesinin bu müzikteki yeri. Enstrümantal müzik olarak başlayan bu grup, solist Dilek Türkan’ın katılımıyla zengin şarkı repertuarının zenginliğini ortaya koydu. Dilek Türkan’ın seslendireceği şarkılar ve enstrümantal eserler, İstanbul’un 18., 19. ve 20. yüzyıllara ait zengin ve çok kültürlü repertuarından derlenen geleneksel halk şarkıları ve bestelerden oluşuyor. 

Derya Türkan’a kemanda Sokratis Sinopoulos ve kanunda Serkan Halili eşlik edecek.

Letter from Istanbul Project, Derya TURKAN comes together with Sokratis Sinopoulos, as two friends who play the same instrument, they aim to reveal the music of these lands by utilizing the vast cultural treasure that has been living in Istanbul for centuries.

The most important reason for discovering this vast musical treasure is the place of the Istanbul kemence in this music. This group, which started as instrumental music, revealed the richness of its rich song repertoire with the participation of soloist Dilek Türkan. The songs and instrumental pieces that Dilek Türkan will perform are compiled from Istanbul’s rich and multicultural repertoire from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries.

It consists of traditional folk songs and compositions. Derya Türkan will be accompanied by Sokratis Sinopoulos on violin and Serkan Halili on kanun.
