Soru kendi anlam potansiyelimizi yansıttığımız, oluşluluğumuzun gizemini çözmeye çalıştığımız bir yer, bir fikir, bir ilişki sunuyor. Soru yoluyla bunları araştırıyorum, fark etmeye çalışıyorum. Ne olursa olsun buna devam edebiliyor olmak, yapabiliyor olmaya çalışmak, olduğu kadar. 

Dramaturji, tiyatro, dans, beden ve hareket alanlarında dramaturg, araştırmacı, oyuncu ve eğitmen çehreleri ile çalışmalarını sürdüren Evren Erbatur, bu alanlardaki deneyimini ve konumunu ele aldığı bir performatif sunum ile karşınızda. Erbatur’a göre dramaturji sadece sanatta değil, hemen her konuda “anlamın nasıl örüldüğünü” merak eder. Burada da ana hatları belirlenmiş bir kurgu, icra anında meydana çıkan ve çıkarılması teşvik edilen fikir, durum ve somut malzemelerle harmanlanır, seyirci ile daimi bir etkileşim kurarak, anlam üstüne bir oyun oynar. “Yaşam koreografisi”nin izini süren icracı, her performansı ayrı bir versiyon olarak yeniden ele alır ve her birinde ön planda tuttuğu bir konu belirler. Artık katılımcıya dönüşmüş olan seyirci ile birlikte sorar, yanıtlar, konuşur, hareket eder, duyar, dinler, çokça güler ve kendiliğindenliğin tadını çıkarır. Süreçteki yaratıcı çaba, hayata karşı nüktedan bir duruş olarak izlenebilir. 

Tasarlayan ve Oynayan: Evren Erbatur 

İstanbul Üniversitesi Edebiyat Fakültesi Tiyatro Eleştirmenliği ve Dramaturji Bölümünden 2000 yılında mezun oldu. Yıldız Teknik Üniversitesi Sanat ve Tasarım Ana Sanat Dalı yüksek lisans programını, “Çağdaş Gösteri Sanatlarında Beden Dramaturjisinin Yeri” konulu yüksek lisans tezi ile 2005 yılında tamamladı. 2005-2018 yılları arasında farklı üniversitelerde öğretim görevlisi olarak çalıştı. Gerçekleştirdiği atölyelerinde özellikle yaratıcı bedensel ifade konusunu ele almaktadır. Beden dramaturjisi, fiziksel dramaturji, dans dramaturjisi, yeni dramaturji başlıkları çalışma alanlarıdır. Evren Erbatur farklı yönetmen ve koreograflarla çalışmakta, farklı topluluklarda ve etkinliklerde dramaturg ve program koordinatörlüğü yapmakta, zaman zaman eleştiri/izlenim yazıları yazmaktadır. “Buna Bir İsim Versen?”, “Sorularımdan Korkmayın Ben Sadece Bir Dramaturgum”, “Falso”, “Pandora”, “Etin Sesi”, “Akademik Yaralanmalar” gibi kendi projelerinde “dramaturjik yapı” fikrinden hareket ederek; hareket, söz, ses, mekân ve nesne arasındaki kavramsal olan ile fiziksel olanın ilişkisini araştırmaktadır. Ege Maltepe’nin yürütücülüğünde Viola Spolin doğaçlama tiyatro tekniğini temel alan “Spolin-İst” oyuncularındadır.

Don’t Afraid of My Questions, I am Only a Dramaturg

The question is a form. Just like you, just like me. We are all special, unique forms. The question offers a place, an idea, a relationship where we reflect our own meaning potential and try to resolve the mystery of our existence. I research and try to see these through questions. Being able to continue this no matter what, trying to be able to do so as much as possible. 

Evren Erbatur, who has been working as a dramaturg, researcher, performer and instructor in the fields of dramaturgy, theatre, dance, body and movement, is here with a lecture performance in which she discusses her experience and position in these fields. According to Erbatur, dramaturgy wonders “how the meaning is woven” not only in art, but in almost every subject. Here too, a fiction whose outlines have been determined is blended with ideas, situations and concrete materials that emerge and are encouraged to be produced at the time of performance. It plays a game on meaning by establishing a constant interaction with the audience. Following the traces of the “choreography of life”, the performer reconsiders each performance as a separate version and determines a subject that she prioritizes in each one. She asks, answers, speaks, moves, hears, listens, laughs a lot and enjoys spontaneity together with the audience, which has now become a participant. The creative effort in the process can be viewed as a humorous stance towards life.

Concept and Performance : Evren Erbatur 

She graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Letters, Department of Theater Criticism and Dramaturgy in 2000. She completed her master’s degree on “The Place of Body Dramaturgy in Contemporary Performing Arts” at Yıldız Technical University Art and Design Department in 2005. She worked as a lecturer at different universities between 2005 and 2018. She particularly addresses the issue of creative physical expression in her workshops. Body dramaturgy, physical dramaturgy, dance dramaturgy, new dramaturgy titles are her areas of study. Evren Erbatur works with different directors and choreographers, takes part as a dramaturg and program coordinator in different companies and events, and writes reviews/articles from time to time. Starting from the idea of “dramaturgical structure” in her own projects such as “Could you give this a name?”, “Don’t Be Afraid of My Questions, I’m Only a Dramaturg”, “Slipup”, “Pandora”, “The Voice of the Meat”, “Academic Injuries”; she investigates the relationship between the conceptuality and the physicality within movement, word, sound, space and object. She is one of the performers of the “Spolin-İst”, which is based on the improvisational theater technique of Viola Spolin, under the direction of Ege Maltepe.
